We brought 2 perfectly healthy horses to this stable and paid for full board and lessons. Atmosphere seemed friendly and the owner had years of experience. Sometime later, things began to deteriorate, including the health of our horses. One of them seemed to be quite sore in the withers and we asked the owner / trainer to take a look at him. Later, we were told that he had been looked at, turned out and watched and that there was absolutely nothing wrong with him. I simply did not believe this and found another stable with room for them both. When I removed the 2 horses from this facility and asked the owner for their coggins, only to be told that they had expired, I knew things had gone terribly wrong. When you board a horse in any stable you expect to be notified of such things. The horses were taken to the vet and found to be severely anemic due to worms and parasites. The sore withers? Well, the diagnosis was a major trauma to the withers area consistent with a horse being flipped over backwards on a very hard surface. Not on grass, or on sand, but on concrete or crushed concrete. Kind of like the surface found in the driveway of this stable. This horse may never be ridden again, we are still praying for him and waiting to find out. Our other horse was older and, unfortunately, more critical. Even with the best of efforts, she only lived for 22 days after being removed from this stable. In short, I was billed and paid for coggins, wormings, clippings, and farrier visits that medical examinations and lab results clearly show neither horse recevied. I urge anyone reading this to investigate thoroughly, any new stable you are moving your horse to. Go to local vets or feed and tack stores to ask questions. You might be shocked at what you find out. Good luck.
