i like this drama free barn Rolltop Meadow Farm is located in Alvin Tx.. A nice clean small town that is about 1/2 Hour away from Down town Houston ..it has great pastes and fields to ride and let the horse run and be it's self in so there not stalled up all day..... Mrs. Karen Bonney, owner and is the instructor..She an experienced trainer for both rider and horse.she gives Lessons for Beginner to advanced ...... Private or group. She has been successfully teaching at this location for over 20 years that I know of. and I glad she talk to me and lets me know everything of what has happen to my horse and it care and behavioral acts in and out of the the stall and barn.\r Mrs Karen lives on sight so that reassuring and she keep tabs on all the comings and goings of her place. she helpful and kind to remind me as the owner that i need to do my job as a good owner to get my coggins and when I should come out to see my horse cuz of anything she thinks i should be told of on my Horse. I am sorry for Fancy... but i never had any trouble or drama as she has and i for one love a drama free barn. the other owners all seem kind and friendly and i enjoy my time at Roll Top Meadows Farm... and I let every horse owner i meet looking for a great place know how open, clean and nice of a barn it is. \r more

Be very, very careful 12/10/2008

We brought 2 perfectly healthy horses to this stable and paid for full board and lessons. Atmosphere seemed friendly and the owner had years of experience. Sometime later, things began to deteriorate, including the health of our horses. One of them seemed to be quite sore in the withers and we asked the owner / trainer to take a look at him. Later, we were told that he had been looked at, turned out and watched and that there was absolutely nothing wrong with him. I simply did not believe this and found another stable with room for them both. When I removed the 2 horses from this facility and asked the owner for their coggins, only to be told that they had expired, I knew things had gone terribly wrong. When you board a horse in any stable you expect to be notified of such things. The horses were taken to the vet and found to be severely anemic due to worms and parasites. The sore withers? Well, the diagnosis was a major trauma to the withers area consistent with a horse being flipped over backwards on a very hard surface. Not on grass, or on sand, but on concrete or crushed concrete. Kind of like the surface found in the driveway of this stable. This horse may never be ridden again, we are still praying for him and waiting to find out. Our other horse was older and, unfortunately, more critical. Even with the best of efforts, she only lived for 22 days after being removed from this stable. In short, I was billed and paid for coggins, wormings, clippings, and farrier visits that medical examinations and lab results clearly show neither horse recevied. I urge anyone reading this to investigate thoroughly, any new stable you are moving your horse to. Go to local vets or feed and tack stores to ask questions. You might be shocked at what you find out. Good luck. more
