Review content:
I've been going to Fogo since the time it opened in Houston. Still have the steak knives they gave out to customers when they first opened. My friends and I love this place, we used to go 3 or 4 times a month for the first few months then slowed down.\r
\r
If you go to Fogo, go to enjoy the quality meats that rivals high class steak houses but, served with the flavor of Brazil. You really taste the beef, not some meat covered in a heavy sauce or covered in butter (except though the garlic beef - you better love garlic), the lamb and pork are just as good. Except for the garlic beef and the parmesan porkl (eew), everything they do to prepare the meats it to bring out the flavor of the meats.\r
\r
The price - it definitely is worth it. You'd pay more at a steak house for similar quality meat and then you are just limited to one. This place really lets you enjoy meat \r
\r
The caiprahinha is the best I have had anywhere and the Papaya creme dessert, to fill in the gaps after dinner, is delcious.\r
\r
For some reason or another had not been to fogo for over a year. I went for lunch today and the quality is still there. The service is still impecable. Couple of the waiters still not only recognized me but, still knew my favorite meats and made sure they arrived promptly.\r
\r
For service, I'll relate a short story. During one of our first visits, a friend must have dropped a little something on him, no one was around us, a minute later he had a fresh napkin and a glass of soda water next to him out of nowhere without being asked. That is how observant the staff is.\r
\r
I love this place, it can be if you just look at the final number but for quality of meat, service and casual atmosphere it is certainly worth it once in a while
Pros: Just a darn fine restaurant if you like meat.
Cons: You wish you had a second stomach
