I was just checking on my Old Church as I have not lived in Modesto for over 15 years, but while there Modesto Christian Center was my church home.
It is 20 years since I joined MDC but I THANK GOD FOR ALL THAT I LEARNED under the Pastoral care of Pastor Jesse Stovall. There is not enough to be said about his ministry!!!!
He and the church are a BREATH OF FRESH AIR amidst a world gone mad. So many times, even some 15 years since, I reflect on his teachings above all the pastors I have ever had. I do not have the words to fully express my gratitude for the role he had in developing my spiritual life, walk, dissemination of scripture and overall appreciation for the Word of the Living God.
Pastor Stovall is one who does not play favorites--in essence, there are no agendas, etc allowed. The WORD OF GOD goes forth and Pastor Stovall is it's willing servant in administering it and assuring it is ""rightly divided"" among the saints, and it does not matter who you are--it is Christ that prevails under his ministry and teachings.
I will always be forever grateful and thankful for those years under his guidance. You will not be sorry you visited, but as the previous reviewer indicated if you are looking for ""watered down"" Word and/or teaching, this is not the place for you.
If you are looking to have the Word rightly divided; to grow in your Christian walk; to learn to ""live"" as God desires in your every day walk and to experience a ""true refreshing"" of your spiritual journey--then RUN, DON'T WALK TO THE VERY NEXT SERVICE AVAILABLE!!!!!
I see that there is a now a very well maintained website to appraise you of church times, services and activities. GOD BLESS YOU PASTOR STOVALL AND MODESTO CHRISTIAN CENTER!!!!
