Modesto Christian Center

I was just checking on my Old Church as I have not lived in Modesto for over 15 years, but while there Modesto Christian Center was my church home. It is 20 years since I joined MDC but I THANK GOD FOR ALL THAT I LEARNED under the Pastoral care of Pastor Jesse Stovall. There is not enough to be said about his ministry!!!! He and the church are a BREATH OF FRESH AIR amidst a world gone mad. So many times, even some 15 years since, I reflect on his teachings above all the pastors I have ever had. I do not have the words to fully express my gratitude for the role he had in developing my spiritual life, walk, dissemination of scripture and overall appreciation for the Word of the Living God. Pastor Stovall is one who does not play favorites--in essence, there are no agendas, etc allowed. The WORD OF GOD goes forth and Pastor Stovall is it's willing servant in administering it and assuring it is ""rightly divided"" among the saints, and it does not matter who you are--it is Christ that prevails under his ministry and teachings. I will always be forever grateful and thankful for those years under his guidance. You will not be sorry you visited, but as the previous reviewer indicated if you are looking for ""watered down"" Word and/or teaching, this is not the place for you. If you are looking to have the Word rightly divided; to grow in your Christian walk; to learn to ""live"" as God desires in your every day walk and to experience a ""true refreshing"" of your spiritual journey--then RUN, DON'T WALK TO THE VERY NEXT SERVICE AVAILABLE!!!!! Modesto Christian Center has a strong foundation in Bible principles. The challenge to walk in God's way, keep His statues and His commandment is ever present. The mission of the church seems to lean towards Bible Mastery, Awana Clubbers- Children Ministry, and simply doing what is right. \r \r No church is perfect, but I believe that if you are concerned about the welfare of your spiritual life Modesto Christian Center, under the leadership of Pastor Jesse Stovall, will provide you with the necessary tool and encouragement to become more like Jesus. I do not know how Pastor Stovall does it but he has the ability to make you understand life's situations and supplies Biblical answers leaving no room for disobedience. \r \r The music is great also. There is a nice mixture of contemporary songs and spiritual hymns that gives very one, young or old, the opportunity to share their voice in song. The music department also has a bass player that will make you pat your feet and clap your hand unto the Lord.\r \r I highly recommend this place of worship to anyone that has a desire to please and obey God. Pros: Seating is Very Comfortable, Ample Parking, Service begins @ 11:00 - 1:00 ( Very Timely) Cons: If you are not serious about living according to the Bible this may not be the place for you. more
