I've waited for years to warn people! When this first happened, there was no internet review system. I filed a complaint with the BBB. The story. Me, my girlfriend, and my best friend all had the same experience with Steven Goldy “DDS.” I go for my annual cleaning and find this guy on my new company's insurance plan list. The receptionists have you fill out and sign a MASSIVE amount of paperwork before you begin, including a “you will be charged $50 instantly” document (I now realize this is to get money from those that are smart enough to walk out the door!) Dr. Goldy walks in with an incredible suntan, unbuttoned shirt, and a gold chain! Seriously! Then he brags about how he just came back from a tropical vacation with his family! $$$$$$$. He literally looks at my teeth and pretends to touch it with the pick for LESS than a minute, before sending me to a back room WITHOUT A WORD. I sit like a scene out of “Clockwork Orange” as an assistant presses play on a several minute video explaining an incredible tooth removal and replacement surgery! I'm young! I don't eat sugar or drink sodas! “Dr.” Goldy then strolls in and tells me I have a huge cavity and the whole tooth needs to be removed, then tells me that this is a procedure that my insurance will NOT cover and that it will be a couple thousand + out of pocket price range!!! MY HEART SANK. He tapped the tooth with a pick several times and I DID NOT feel the pick stick. When you have a cavity the pick sticks into the hole of the tooth. My girlfriend and I fled the scene immediately! We were both charged $50 to our credit cards. I fought with no avail. Then we found a new dentist and asked “Dr” Goldy's office for copies of our X-Rays, they refused even though we offered to pay a fee for the copies!!!!! Another suspicious sign, i.e. evidence of healthy teeth. I had to have my head X-Rayed again and pay out of pocket because Goldy used up my insurance for the year!!! My new dentist found nothing, NOTHING wrong with either of our teeth. I have seen two other dentists and have been cavity free the entire time!!!!!! Turns out my best friend randomly called me a year later with the same story... new job, new insurance, a horrible experience. I asked him who he went to... Dr. Goldy, of course! We can laugh about it now. We still retell the story as “remember when you went to see Dr. Death!” THANK YOU CITYSEARCH AND INTERNET REVIEWS!!! BTW he preys on the elderly. Pros: Great acting skills Cons: Con artist
