Review content:
Having grown up in a little town on the east coast with close proximity to the world class restaurants of New York and Philadelphia, I am overjoyed over the fact that this jewel of a restaurant is in my Sherman Oaks neighborhood. There is an Italian word that perfectly describes the experience of dining at Il Tiramisu .... ""Abbondanza!"" It means abundance. Every aspect here is a treasure to appreciate and enjoy ... from the warm, intimate, inviting atmosphere to the impeccable service and award winning cuisine.\r
On my last outing, I enjoyed the 'special' salad of red beets and cherries with fontina cheese. The artichoke cakes, fresh ricotta cheese, with sweet red bell pepper puree are always a favorite, as is the Crespelle di Zucca (pasta rolls filled with butternut squash, ricotta cheese, with a sage cream sauce). This dish melts in your mouth. All of the pasta is home made and is a must try for first time diners. \r
Owner Peter Kastelan is attentive, congenial and always available to lend his expertise on the excellent wine list. I highly recommend Il Tiramisu on Ventura and Woodman. You can be guaranteed to be greeted with smiles, open arms and world class cuisine.
Pros: Thumbs up!
Cons: Are you kidding???
