I don't mean to cause a fight, but the last review was WAY OFF!!! Lets break this down...I went to Marczyx, the great grocery store in my neighborhood and a block down from Steuben's, sells live Maine Lobsters for $13 a pound. I asked how much actual meat you get out of a one pound lobster and they told me MAYBE 4 oz. On my last visit to Steuben's, I asked and they get in 1 and 1/4 pound lobsters to make the lobster rolls and put 4 to 5 oz of meat in them. Lets do the math... 1 and 1/4 pound lobster is around $17.60. I also know that Steuben's has to import in the correct roll from the eastcoast (anyone who knows, knows you have to get the right roll or it just lobster on a hot dog bun). I'm no restaurant person, but I can guess that is not cheap to do, we'll say a dollar a bun. Now someone has to cook, and de-shell those lobsters, I know that is not cheap, we'll say 15 minutes of time and effort at $8 an hour, so that $2.10. Lets add that up; 17.60 + 1.00 + 2.10 = $20.70. That dose not include the sauce they put on it or ANY sort of profit. Basically, they are not making any money to serve you the only good lobster dish in Colorado (in my opinion). The menu price of the lobster roll is $18 and the fries which are al carte are $3. This place is the best and I am very excited to have the lobster roll back after the management took it off because the price for lobsters was way to high, but I still would have paid more a this wonderful taste of the east coast. Pros: Lobster Rolls Cons: colorados cold weather so I can not sit outside all the time
