Review content:
I called around for the best price before going to the Cobbler Shoppe. On the phone they quoted me $8-$10, but when I got there they said $15. I figured I wouldn't argue it because I just wanted the job done at this point, but then I asked when it would be done. The guy says ""Oh about a month."" I replied with laughter and ""Are you kidding?"" He looked at me with complete seriousness and said ""well we've got a lot of people ahead of you, that is unless you want to pay $20"" Now keep in mind this was an extremely easy job, just gluing the sole back onto ONE of my shoes. I had the sole still. I just needed them to glue it. Then I explained that I needed it by the end of the week because I was moving. It was Tuesday I needed it done by the end of the week and since they are closed Friday I needed it by Thursday. He looked for help from another employee and she said they could get it done. At this point I figured there's no point in bringing up the price the quoted me on the phone. Now the funny thing is they got the shoe done on Wednesday. Faster than I thought and I'm glad about all that, but don't haggle your customers. Don't act like it's going to be so hard to get it done if it's not. I was being truthful about having to move so don't lie to me and tell me you're so busy. Anyway, I paid $15 in the end which is more than they quoted me on the phone, but less than the dude wanted to charge me for ""express work"". As far as the end product goes, like other reviewers have said, the re-gluing does stick out a little, but my shoes were black so the coloring wasn't hard to match and it's really not that noticeable. I'd rather have a little glue show and have it stick good for years than otherwise. But we'll see. Maybe I'll update this review later and tell you how long the glue lasts. Because after all the reason I came to a cobbler rather than do it myself was for quality work that would last. So we'll see.
