Had out of town company, reservations for 9pm. Arrived promptly, seated promptly. Special menu listed Stone Crab Claws (5 claws for $30) menu also listed next to the claws - ""with Joes famous mustard dipping sauce"". We are HUGE admirers of Joes in South Beach and are familiar with their sauce and asked the waiter if it is indeed ""Joes"". We were assured that it was the Real Deal!!! How disappointing when it arrived and was tasted like a poor rendition of the original. We pointed this out to the waiter who later apologized to us and said it was not authentic Joe's Mustard Sauce. Additionally, the crab claws, while a decent size, were not of the quality I would expect for the price. We have no problem spending top dollar for good food, but paying top dollar for substandard really irks us. Two Good Points - The restaurant did tell us that dessert would be on them due to the misinformation. Also weekend nights, bottles of wine are half price. Back to the food. In addition to the crab, we ordered calamari as an appetizer. At $12 - it was terrible, tasted like frozen calamari that was breaded and the breading undercooked. Had a raw flour taste to it. Red/green peppers were also mixed in and were the best part of the dish. The cocktail sauce is lackluster. An entree of Lobster ravioli was ordered by one of our dining party and while the concept was ok, the dish was way too busy and overpowered by blue cheese and apples in the dish. The scallops were ok as was the tenderloin. The port ossobucco was decent. Additionally, they advertise a free powerball ticket to be given with every bottle of wine ordered. We never saw a lottery ticket. Dessert, which was on the house was fine, the creme brulee was good, the flavor was great the sugar top was fair (too thin, only covered half of the dish). Presentation was good for most things. But overall, very disappointed. Felt very rushed as courses were brought out before the prior ones were finished.
Pros: 1/2 price bottles of wine on weekends
Cons: Food, rushed service
