Review content:
The Oceanaire Seafood Room has only been open since Memorial Day 2007. It is right next to Capital Grill on International Drive in Point Orlando (where FAO Swartz use to be) and is not really showing up in the reviews much yet. It is an exceptional dining experience. Their Ultra-Fresh Seafood is well prepared which is not always easy to find in Florida (go figure). The Wahoo was exceptional as was the Marlin and Swordfish. The Shrimp and Grits appetizer was notable as was the crab cake. The Baked Alaska was fun to see presented and even better to eat. The staff was personable, well trained and paid attention to the details. We were celebrating a Birthday and my mother really appreciated the menu printed in honor of her special day as well as being presented with a card signed by the staff. Just made it a memorable night. Even the bathroom is fun to visit with several jars and containers of lotion, makeup aides and mouthwash made available. These people really know seafood, so if that is what you seek, you can not go wrong here. Loved the music playing in the dining room. There is complementary valet parking that did not pose much of wait even though it was very busy when we left. Only constructive criticism I could offer is I feel the key lime pie missed the mark a little in depth of flavor but I am a bit snooty on the subject, having grown up on the treat right from a little place on Islamorada on our way back from fishing trips. But it was close. {smiles} Side portions and desserts are LARGE and we felt the meal was well priced. Pros: The Seafood, The Staff, Ambience, Valet Parking, Baked Alaska, Shrimp & Grits Cons: Really none to offer except a little weakness on the Key Lime Pie
