Review content:
I wanted to take my gf someplace nice and new (for us) for her bday, so we decided to go to Asia de Cuba. From beginning to end, it was an amazing evening (except for a 15-20 minute period in the middle where our waiter seemed to fall asleep and just forgot about us). Despite the mixed reviews, we didn't have to wait for our table, even though we showed up a few minutes late. The service was very good, considering how busy they were on a Friday evening, and the ambience is quite nice, but not stuffy. Most importantly, ALL of the food was incredible (the Calamari Salad, Duck, and Bread Pudding, to be specific). Everything is served in huge portions - 1 appetizer and 1 entree would have been more than enough for the 2 of us, but we gorged ourselves on a side dish and dessert as well. Only downside was the price (which is to be expected for a place like this) - though the restauarant should at least fully validate for parking. Having to pay $15 to park for 2 hours after spending almost $200 at dinner seems a little over-the-top. Pros: Food (you MUST try the duck), ambience, pretty good service for a ""trendy"" spot Cons: Huge portions means you don't get to try as many things; valet charge is way too expensive
