Review content:
Last night I went to ""Asia de Cuba"" for the second time. \r \r Good food, but SLOW TO SEAT!\r \r The first time I had gone to this restaurant it was on a Thursday night and were seated forty minutes after we arrived (despite our reservation)-- and then we were given a table right near the entrance and a very breezy door, which made for a terrible drafty and cold ambiance. I figured I just got unlucky. So last night, I thought I'd give ""Asia de Cuba"" another chance.\r \r This time we had a 9:30pm reservation, and weren't seated about 11pm. At 10:30pm we were told a table was found for us-- but then it dragged on for another half hour. After being so hungry and impatient, it was difficult to enjoy the restaurant. Although no one on staff gave us ""attitude,"" the statement I heard from the hostess ""we're running twenty minutes behind"" was wishful thinking at best. If they are that busy, they shouldn't have given us a reservation in the first place, or at least they should have told us how long the wait was when we arrived.\r \r Of the dishes we ordered, the butterfish and the lobster mashed potatoes, were the best. The tuna tartare is on the overly salty side and had too much olive for my taste. The plantain rice was okay, but for the price, not phenomenal. \r \r In general I'm a person who will put up with a ""scene,"" a crowd, and a little bit of snobbery for a good meal, but an hour and half wait to be seated, while waiting in an over crowded bar, with no effort to make up for it with any sort of comp'd food, etc., is beyond my tolerance level. \r \r They have good food, but at this price, there are other restaurants in LA that have great atmosphere, food, and actually seat you within twenty minutes of your reservation.\r Pros: Quality food, well designed atmosphere Cons: Overcrowded, poor scheduling and reservation management, Expensive Parking
