I'd just returned in Amsterdam in March with the lasting impression of all the bikes I saw (and dodged) determined to get a bike "like those" - tall elegant stylishly dressed city folk using bikes for...TRANSPORTATION!!!! What a concept. I live in a small town - within a mile or so of my workplace and it seemed that a bike set up like those in Amsterdam would make so much sense here. Except we aren't so flat as Holland in these parts (nor so elegant or stylishly dressed). Fast forward to Earth Day. And I wander over to the local park to participate and that is when I saw them for the first time - the Pedego Electric Bike. One turn around the the parking lot (thanks Heather!!!) and I knew this was exactly the right bike! I researched electric bikes in general and Pedego in particular. Honestly, I'd never heard of such a thing. So love at first sight - on May 30th I became the proud owner of the white with mint green wheels step through cruiser (that fastest color combo). I'm a happy commuter, errand runner and having so much fun. People at work ask me...Electric bike? What's the point? Point is - you'll ride more in more conditions and you ARE pedaling. I'd like to see more of my fellow citizens adopt this commute modality. As they say in Holland - there is no such thing as bad weather - just bad clothes. I see myself using this form of conveyance most of the year. Get one. You won't regret it.
