Review content:
Let me start by saying that the food, while small in portion, has been good each time I've been here. This particular time it was not the food, but the pretentious service that requires me to share the experience.
We recently had out of town guests and wanted to take them to a cool Portland eatery. We gave Le Happy the honor of bringing our guests here, much to our later dismay.
There are two separate issues, the first having absolutely no excuse: The waitress handed my boyfriend's vegetarian dish to our one guest, who proceeded to eat about half of it before he realized that it was not his. He then gave it to my bf. The waitress then brought his correct dish and when he asked her if it was the chicken crepe he ordered she confirmed it was. When we told her that she had mistakenly given him my bf's food earlier, she responded, ""Oh well."" We all sat there with our jaws dropped for a spell.
The second issue, which began upon arrival, was that as a party of four we did not want to sit right next to the front door and asked if we could move to the four top across the way. This four-top had a two-top next to it that they told us they needed to keep clear if they had a six party come in. The place was about half full. Later, before our dishes arrived, and after more people left, another friend called to say she would be joining us. We then asked once more if we could move to the other table, explaining that we had a fifth person coming. The waiter told us that she could ""comfortably"" sit at the end of our table -- a side that had legs right under the edge and would have prevented anyone without knee guards from being ""comfortable.""
Their motto seems to be ""keep imagined customers happy and make the ones that are here miserable with our self-righteous attitudes.""
