Review content:
I have been going to Helvetia Tavern since I was a baby. I believe it has had about two different owners in the past 20-30 years or so, the previous to the current one being my great aunt. I have simply never had a better burger. Family owned, quality ingredients, and a fun, enjoyable atmosphere. There's nothing like eating your favorite burger and having a beer with some friends on a warm summer evening in their tree-shaded back yard. You're not paying for the service here (which is usually friendly but busy), you're paying for a delicious burger and a good beer. Bring cash, because in order to keep their prices down, they don't pay Visa a percentage of every sale, which I think is great. Family owned, you don't have to worry about supporting a huge multi-million dollar chain. I usually get the jumbo burger and split it with my husband. My advice is to avoid the oily, soggy fries- if you want something fried on the side, I say go for the onion rings. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Pros: delicious food, fun atmosphere, good prices, no extra charge for VISA
