Delicious! 4/26/2006

It's a pub, a little hole in the wall somewhere, and yet they manage to make some of the most additively tasty food around. Worth the drive, the fish and chips are a great unsung find on their menu. The burgers are massive and sloppy, just as they should be, and the fries with the skin on are crunchy and addictive! more

Very Best Hamburger 12/27/2005

Not just a tavern, one side is a family restaurant. It is a few minutes off of the highway but a designation for anyone who has eaten one of their hamburgers. The Helvetia burger is big enough for two so it is a bargain and the large pile of fries are homemade. They do not serve anything else other than some smaller burgers if you . Many people order the large one and share it. There is outdoor seating for nice weather. more

Too much hype 8/23/2005

Helvetia tavern is okay, but not as special as Portlanders make it out to be. The burgers are plain as plain can be, the restuarant is small, and service is so so. I know its a pub and not a 5 star place, but seriously, a little goes a long way people. It's too far of a drive for a so-so burger. Stay closer to town unless you are looking to ride your bike on some nice country roads. more

Best burgers around PDX 8/4/2005

Absolutely the best burgers you'll find around PDX metro area. Standard big bun with two burgers, but the sauce (goop) makes them special. Would be perfect rating except their fries are often soggy (sometimes they are great......sometimes they are just ok). On a warm summer day go there in the afternoon and grab a picnic table in their backyard and enjoy the country air while you eat a fine burger. more

Great fries! 7/17/2005

Helvetia Tavern is a little ways off the main street of towns, just a short drive in the country. They have picnic tables outside for a beautiful day. The inside is small. Smaller selection of food then most restaurants. Family friendly. and when they are packed there is no room. The burgers are great, but my favorite is their Fries! We have always left there very full. more

Decent Sized Burgers, but a Tad overpriced 7/8/2005

Decent place to hang out on a sunny day. Burgers are big and good, but a little on the pricey side. Good onion rings and fries. Ask for a Double-Double burger for the best value. It's not on the menu, but you get 2 patties and 2 slices of cheese. more
