Review content:
I had a nightmare bridal dress experience in this store. I cannot recommend staying away from this place and its terrible staff enough!! I am a Columbia graduate student living in the city. Three of my college friends came into town and, since I am recently engaged, we were excited to go bridal dress shopping. I had been in Cheap Jack's before with my future mother-in-law and knew they had a few gowns (none of which turned out to be anything special), so we walked all day with the intention of finding it. \r

A VERY pushy female employee who was eccentrically dressed in glasses and leopard print took the dresses back from us. When we asked to have a dress taken down to try on, her response was “After she tries on all of THOSE, then maybe we will see!” We felt her attitude was unprovoked but went to the dressing rooms anyway. As I started to put on the first dress I listened as she lectured my friends about not “playing” with the dresses, using belittling phrases like “do I make myself clear.” I was so hurt and offended that I was being pushed around in my first bridal dress experience that I decided we were leaving. As I angrily walked out the door this heinous employee, in all her professionalism yelled back “GET DIVORCED, SWEETIE!” \r

I have never been rude to a salesperson and have never had an experience like this. We walked straight to the bridal area and, coupled with my firm date and engagement ring as well as the fact that we are adults in our mid-twenties, this employee had no reason to assume that we were 16-year-olds coming to “play with dresses.” I would hope that no store would want this kind of monstrous salesperson working for them, but ESPECIALLY a store that caters to brides looking for vintage dresses. I am shaking and near-to-tears just thinking about how boorishly I was treated in
