I held a birthday party at Hot Shots (1636 Country Club Plaza, St. Charles, MO) on 4.19.2008. I had a large area reserved for my party of 60 people. We began arriving at 6:15pm, and the majority of our party stayed until close. At approximately 1:05am, we noticed two jackets and a purse were missing, which had last been seen within 10 minutes ago. All three items were placed on tables which we had occupied the entire evening. We were the only customers left in the bar, and began to inquire with several members of the staff. Nobody claimed to have any knowledge of these items being turned in. Including the security guard, who was seated next to us the entire evening. One of the people in my party continued to search the area, and walked to the back of the bar. She then saw one of the staff holding her husband's jacket and walking into an office. She approached him, and asked for the jacket back. She then looked in the office and saw the other jacket and purse. I went in to retrieve them. Upon inspection, we found all of the money had been stolen from the purse. At 1:33am, I filed a report with the St. Charles City Police. Obviously, these events provide us with some concern regarding the practices of staff members taking property from patrons and not allowing the opportunity to return them. On 4.21.2008, I contacted the General Manager, Jason Newton with this report. He indicated he would look into it and call me back. I have not received a response. Pros: Darts, pool Cons: YOUR PROPERTY BEING STOLEN.
