Review content:
I adore Indian food, and I am probably spoiled by my beloved Minar Palace in Center City Philly, but this place in Ardmore was a huge letdown. The shabby ambiance (erotic Hindu statuary, and framed photos of more of the same notwithstanding), beaten-up serving utensils, and dingy bathrooms did not jibe with the $15-$19 per entree a la carte pricing. Pay additional to have a dish of raita?!? My favorite aspect of the richly decorated menus was the several layers of pasted-on price stickers, revealing how many times the prices had been raised since the original printing of the lovely menus. The food was tasty, although I would argue with some of the choices, and certainly believe that some high-sodium cheating was going on - MSG, anyone?
