Review content:
I called ahead to see how much my lamp repair might cost since I found an interesting but non-operational lamp at a thrift store and didn't want to pay too much to repair it. They said it that type of repair was ""probably $20."" I asked for the ""worst-case scenario"" and got the same answer - ""probably $20."" When I picked up the lamp a week later the cost was almost twice that ($37), with no explanation offered as to why it was higher. The invoice didn't explain it either, just a single cryptic ""R98"" line item.
Anyway, I was disappointed ... I would have appreciated a quick call to warn me that the cost to repair it was going to be almost twice what they expected, and see if I still wanted to do the repair.
While I was there I peeked at the prices for some of their lamps on display ... over $400 for a table lamp, and almost $200 for a lampshade ... yikes! It seems like the kind of place to go if you have a lot of money and need something very specific that you can't find anywhere else. In hindsight I probably should have gotten my repair done somewhere else.
