Kody Lighting

Needed some extra relief from the hot summer. Our home has central air, but some areas still oppressively hot. Great selection at Kody, and was also shown catalogs with other choices to special order. Found one in stock that was great looking and powerful for a great price. I called ahead to see how much my lamp repair might cost since I found an interesting but non-operational lamp at a thrift store and didn't want to pay too much to repair it. They said it that type of repair was ""probably $20."" I asked for the ""worst-case scenario"" and got the same answer - ""probably $20."" When I picked up the lamp a week later the cost was almost twice that ($37), with no explanation offered as to why it was higher. The invoice didn't explain it either, just a single cryptic ""R98"" line item. Anyway, I was disappointed ... I would have appreciated a quick call to warn me that the cost to repair it was going to be almost twice what they expected, and see if I still wanted to do the repair. While I was there I peeked at the prices for some of their lamps on display ... over $400 for a table lamp, and almost $200 for a lampshade ... yikes! It seems like the kind of place to go if you have a lot of money and need something very specific that you can't find anywhere else. In hindsight I probably should have gotten my repair done somewhere else. more

I saw a chandelier in a magazine and knew it would be perfect for my dining room. I called a lot of lighting stores in the area. Only Kody Lighting knew which chandelier it was and was able to order it for me. I got it in less than 2 weeks! I love the chandelier and it looks like it costs far more than we paid! I was in Kody Lighting this past weekend looking for a particular shade to fit an old lamp passed on through my family. I wanted to match the look of the base with a shade. The selection was fantastic! I was able to find several shades that matched the period of the lamp design... The salesperson was so patient, knowledgeable and helpful. He knew design and was able to show me the right shade! While there I ended up buying a new light for my porch, I couldn't resist looking at all the lighting fixtures that were so appealing. Thanks so much for all your help! I had first gone to another lighting store and didn't find nearly the large selection I found at Kody. Pros: They have awesome shades too! more
