Review content:
This course has become a big disappointment. The condition is poor, pace of play is slow, value is non-existent, GPS is no longer on carts, carts tend to die in middle of rounds so bring a cell phone to call the pros hop for a replacement. There is no manager on weekends, so if you have a problem requiring attention you must call back Mon-Friday between 9 and 5. \r
\r
With so many other really nice options in Raleigh, this course should be at the bottom of anyone/s list.\r
\r

UPDATE: (March 2010)\r
\r
After two years of not playing at Wildwood Green, I was coaxed by friends to return to this course. The experience was, once again,a huge disappointment. Location is everything and people are not willing to drive to find a better golf course. This place is always crowded and the pace of play is absolutely horrid. The practice area is even worse, they did have two people at the check in counter, the first tee was backed up and no starter was there, so people were ""self starting"" despite the fact it was a 70 degree afternoon in March. The driving range is ugly- all old, hard, and bumpy mats. The practice putting green was just as bad as I remembered and the golf course was worse then two years ago. If I could take away the single star rating I would. \r
\r
As long as people keep showing up and paying money to play this place, the owners will continue to milk this cash cow dry. They don't appear to put money back into the golf course and after 25 years it has to be paid off, so it is probably a retirement nest egg for the owners.\r
I bet once the economy improves the owners will look to sell the land for real estate development. As a golf course it wil take too much money to bring the condition up to par and eventually golfers will migrate to the netter conditioned, improved service and higher value of River Ridge, Eagle Ridge or Falls Village all just a short drive from this place. \r
Pros: The location will be good for condos.
Cons: They haven't ruened it inot condos yet.
