USA baby sells some nicely built furniture at an ok price. Avoid giving them any money.
My wife and I took the plunge on the ""Cocoon"" series crib set. We were warned by some friends that it would take many many...many weeks for USA Baby to fulfill the order, but we had some time. but they were correct; 105 days after order, the crib was delivered to our house.
Reflecting on this purchase I learned a valuable lesson or two.
1. don't trust purchasing recommendations your friends make for their baby. they may have done research, but trust yourself more.
2. Window shop at USA Baby; then buy what you want from an online retailer. the 105 days i waited for the crib set could have been cut to 10 days had i ordered the same set from an online retailer that maintains inventory. the price was the same. in retrospect this was a huge mistake.
*Rationale*
USA Baby does not maintain any inventory and will try to make you worry about the timeline so that you pay the charge to expedite your order. Do not believe them if they claim the long lead time is because your crib is being manufactured. My crib was manufactured 5 months prior to my purchase. I received the crib 9 months after it had been produced in Chile.
Their sales aren't really that impressive; no matter when you are there.
In conclusion; the in-store ""help"" you receive really isn't valuable enough to make a difference. buy online and save lots and lots of time!!
