Just got back from Empress Gardens. I have been dining there occasionally since the early 70's, it survived the mall renovation, and I had not been there for about ten years. My girlfriend wanted to go because the chinese place nearest us does not have a liquor license. Everything was as expected. The tastes are predictable and reliable like McDonalds, very nice low volume piano music gave a romantic feel.\r
I gave the place five stars because it is cozy, intimate, reliable, very affordable, with dedicated staff, and privately owned.
Pros: Rear dining area for large groups. Good close parking, reliable. Helpful staff. Romantic.
Cons: Tight with oversized wheelchair. Now that's grasping at straws. Staff was quick to help.
