I agree with another Citysearch review I just read. Mother's came highly recommended by a few people but the dinner I had there yesterday was awful. The creamed vegetable that accompanied my entree was stiff and c-o-l-d... they served what looked & tasted like old, oil-soaked home fries with the porterhouse steak I ordered... even the two onion rings that topped my steak were inedible. How does one screw up an onion ring? The quality of the meat was mediocre at best. Our waitress's hands reeked of cigarettes (nauseating). I was embarrassed to have brought my NYC foodie friends to this place - will most certainly not be returning.
Pros: folks seemed to be having a great time at the bar
Cons: quality & execution of cusine poor
