This place is a real treat to have in my home town of Bastrop. Baxter's has the best of both worlds with the big city quality mixed with the small, historic town charm. I'm addicted to the filet mignon with a glass (or bottle!) of Messina Hoff. And I defy anyone out there to find a better Creme Brulee...anywhere! The absolute best eats in town by a mile! You city dwellers out there don't know what you're missing out here ""in the sticks""! They definitely do it right at Baxter's!

Cons: Occasionally, the kitchen can be a tad slow (but who really cares!)
