I have never ever wrote a review before, but after reading what the last person wrote I feel I need to say something about what I experienced. First I will say that I should have made an appointment instead of just walking in, but my buddy and I had just left the Louisiana Cajun Cafe (great fried pickles by the way) next door to Susan Hart's. I had made a razzing remark at my buudy that he should run in real quick and being such a macho man get a manicure, of course he jabbed back at me about being a hippy with long hair and that I should go in and get them to put a pink ribbon in my pony tail. One thing led to another and we dared each other to get a haircut. First impressions of the place was very warm and inviting, soothing colors, and soft comfortable leather chairs, with an energetic buzz flowing around you that makes you want to jump in and enjoy.(wow, sorry don't know where that came from, maybe the travel channel) Because we had just walked in off the street there wasn't an opening for 50 minutes which for a guy is llike an eternity, the upfront staff took pity on us and offered us lattes( they make themselves; Starbuck quality! Impressive!) And as we sat in the very comfortable leather chairs they kept us entertained with some real funny stories. After about 15 min the Owner of the place came by and offered us a tour of the place while we were waiting. She was very courteous, personable and engaging. ( Also very Beautiful, I showed my girlfriend the review the lady wrote and she said sometimes women take an attitude with very beautiful women and maybe that's where those comments came from. Go figure ! by the way my girlfriend is incredibly gorgeous so she would know!) The owner took about 15 min to show us around and we were well educated about all the stuff that can go into a salon and day spa! I can see where someone could spend all day there getting pampered and PRODDED. Some of the machines looked like some space age torture devices. I don't know if I'm brave enough I 'll just stick with a hair cut. Speaking of which, when we finally got to the hair cut, NOW that was impressive the guy that cut my hair was a HOOT, foreign, well traveled, great accent, very well educated and entertaining, can speak 5 or 6 languages. He took a good 50 min on my hair, 15 just on washing and massaging, Incredible ! He then showed me pictures of what I wanted it to look like, discussed the pros and cons of each cut or look. When he started to cut the time flew by with all of his stories about where he's been and what he's done, very enjoyable. He definitely knew what he was doing, he used 2 or 3 different scissors to get the type of cut he wanted. One of the scissors was 40 yrs old, It was the best haircut and over all haircut experience that I have ever had. I don't know if it can be repeated but I'll keep coming back to try to. \r

After going back through and reading all that I had wrote I'm tempted to edit this, I had not intended to write a book on my experience. But I won't, I think people have gotten into the habit of trashing each other for what ever the reason. I'ts just to easy to say mean things when you aren't looking the person in the eye. All I know is what I experienced and I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to share it with my girlfriend, so I bought a gift certificate for her , an all day escape just for her.( By the way she was thrilled, & I got alot of brownie points for it.)\r
Now, I know that the place has only been opened for a month or so and all new businesses need to work out the hiccups and adjustments, but you wouldn't know it by what I went through.\r
In a nut shell: Great Historic Bldg, Beautifully Remodeled, Great location, Great Staff/People,Great Latte, Great Haircut, Great Experience. PERIOD !\r
Pros: Exellent hair cut Experience, Beautiful Place & People !
Cons: Busy, I should have made an appointment instead of walk-in
