Review content:
After only two visits for brunch, Screen Door has shot up high on my list of places I regularly frequent for breakfast on the weekends. I like the ""out-of-the-ordinary,"" and there are plenty of things here not offered at many (or any) other restaurants. On my first time in, a special was crispy strips of chicken breast served over a sweet potato waffle with maple syrup. The chicken was indeed crispy and had a slight ""bite"" in the light batter. The waffle was lovely. I felt as if I had had both breakfast and lunch with this choice. (Well, it is called ""brunch""!) I felt in such a good mood afterward that I enjoyed a spicy rum hot apple cider drink for ""dessert."" The next time, I went for the bowl of grits baked with a thin slice of delicious ham and topped with provolone cheese and two nicely poached eggs. Another greatly pleasing breakfast. On both occasions, the waitresses were sweet, charming, witty, and efficient. Listening to their enthusiastic recommendations for newcomers is quite delightful. Attention is paid to coffee cups -- a big item on my ""what matters"" list.
Pros: Wonderful, friendly servers
Cons: Gets noisy when busy
