Review content:
Let me preface all of this by saying, you need to look at my review for FLAVORS as well. I came to Saffron House after my debacle at Flavors and Im SO glad i did. It was the perfect ending to a horrible day. Here goes:
I would like to think that im pretty well versed on Indian food considering I eat it at least once a week (and im Iranian --so its food from my part of the world). That being said, I must say that The Saffron House is by far my favorite after last night. I used to be in love with a place in Irving and a place in Arlington but The Saffron House was better than both. I dont like my food fiery hot and when I told the waitress MILD=MEDIUM i just knew I left the door too open. I was pleasantly surprised when my saag paneer came and it was perfect. It tasted a bit different that what I was used too. Far less grease and a deeper green. The owner came by and explained that the food was more North Indian than what I was used to. He was very personable and inquired about my meal and what I liked/didnt like about the cuisine. I also tried the garlic naan. I usually stick to regular naan but thought id give it a try. Even at my favorite Indian spot in Arlington, the garlic naan is too heavily saturated in garlic to enjoy but TSH got it right! It was wonderful. I dont think it was overpriced at all. Of course the buffet is much cheaper but I got dinner and I got it cooked to the spice level of my choice. I would definitely recommend this place. Oh and its beautiful with an awesome patio! You must check it out. I dont know if Im more happy with the owner making me feel so much better after my issue with Flavors or the fact that the food was absolutely wonderful!
