Review content:
I purchased two twin beds for my daughters in September. When the beds arrived in November, I went to pick them up at the warehouse. Three of the panels had gaps in the wood and one of the panels was perfect.
I refused delivery and called the store hoping that they would have Young America send new panels. I have been back and forth with the store over the last week, they first said they would take care of everything and also deliver and set up my new beds. They then put me off a few days on when that would be.
Today, my sales person Angela called and said that the owner Steve went to look at the beds and would call me back about the delivery. She called later and said that the beds were exactly how they should have been and that the gaps were there on purpose so the wood would be able to expand. I asked her how then did one of the bed panels come out without the gap. She did not have an answer. I called back later to let her know I reviewed Young America's website and they did not show gaps on the product on their website either. Angela, I was told left earlier in the day, this was by Steve Cullen, the owner's son and general manager. I let him know that I just spoke with her and he said she left five minutes ago. I explained what was going on with the beds and he told me that Young America's website was airbrushed. He said he did not like my attitude from the moment I walked into the store and that he was going to just give me my money back so he did not have to deal with anymore. I told him I was going to be there first thing in the morning to collect my refund and he told me that he was not sure he could give me my refund tomorrow, I paid with a check. Then he told me he would have me arrested if I did anything he did not like. Then he said to have my husband come into the store instead of me. Which when I purchased the beds in September I told my sales person that my husband had just passed away.
Do not buy anything from them. If you are not happy with the quality of the merchandise that they deliver, they will not stand behind it and tell you to jump in a lake. Steve Cullen, the owner's son is a my way or the highway person, just as I have read on other reviews. If you have a problem you most likely won't get resolution and you will have let several months go by and have to start over.
