Review content:
I took an extremely late lunch today. It was well after 2:00 PM. I decided to call in an order of a beef chimichanga, rice, and a side order of guacamole. Upon paying for my to-go meal, I asked if they had included the guacamole. They assured me that it was in the bag. I trusted them and went on my merry way. \r \r Not until I had reached my destination, a good 20 minutes away, did I realize that it WASN'T in the bag. Instead, they had given me a side salad with a teaspoon of guacamole on top. The guacamole WAS NOT FRESH. Everyone knows that fresh guac has a nice light green color. This guac was GREY. The taste was even worse than the color. I was VERY disappointed. One of the main reasons why I usually LOVE Las Palmas (note: I have always been pleased with the service and food at the downtown location, right off of West End) is because of their fresh, flavorful guacamole. I can get tacos, etc. anywhere, but you can't find great quac just anywhere, right? \r \r So, once I get over the fact that I have no guacamole, I decide to move on to the chimichanga and rice. The rice was great, but the chimichanga? All I can say is that it was average. The tortilla was tough, and the consistency was well beyond chewy. \r \r I have to add that I've eaten at this location before during peak lunch/dinner times and have never experienced a problem. However, to go in when the restaurant is virtually empty, and receive poor service and poor quality of food is unacceptable.\r \r I may visit this location at some point in the future, but if I ever order take-out again, I will definitely double check the contents of my to-go bag AND the quality of the food before leaving the premises. Pros: Good during peak hours Cons: Not so good during down times
