Worst Service 6/21/2009

My friend and I wanted to enjoy some Mexican food and we use to frequent a different location but we moved to this area. First problem, we ordered drinks one was 5.30 and the other was 11.00. The price was ridiculous for a rubbing alcoholic beverage . My friend order came out before mine. I had to ask my waiter where my order was. He stated, ""It will be out in a minute."" After 10 minutes passed and he brings out chicken when I ordered steak. I advised him that I did not order that. It took them an additional 15 minutes to bring out what I asked for and at this point, I was very upset because my friend was basically finished with her meal and mine was not even on the table. I advised them that I did not want the meal anymore because I was no longer enjoying a meal with my friend. I advised them that I was dissatisfied and all they could say was sorry. They did nothing that consists of great customer service in fixing their mistake. I looked at my receipt later and they charged me for something that I did not order and refused to take it off the ticket. I asked him were they so hard up for cash that they had to nickel and dime people for things that were not ordered? This place was horrible and does not care about their customers. If you want to be treated fairly and have great eating experience, go somewhere else. Pros: Closer Location Cons: Customer Service, Food, Drinks, Price more

WORST SEVICE I HAVE EVER RECIEVED!!!!!!! 6/21/2009

I was in the mood for some good authentic Mexican food so I decided to go to Las Palmas. We were seated promptly and after a few minutes the waiter came to our table to take our drink order. Both drinks were margaritas and were very watered down. He came back and we ordered our food. I received my food 30min before my date did and they brought her the wrong order so she had to wait another 20min. We asked for the manager and he was very unprofessional when he came to the table. He didn't say can I help you or anything he said ""yeah"". So we explained the that her food was late coming and that it was the wrong order, he explained to us that WE were confused. So he was very argumentative. We received the bill and our waiter charged us for things we did not order. Once we brought this to the manager's attention he became very rude cutting us off and saying that we didn't have to come here anymore that he didn't care. He was a tall Hispanic male that was cocky and rude. So we paid the bill and left. I would suggest going to one of the Mexican stands over this place or even Chili's at least the drinks would be better as well as the service. If not at least you would have a manger who actually cares about the customer. I guess since it was in Madison he just saw as a black couple trying to get out of a bill. So beware this not a very welcoming place at ALL, don't waste your money on bad service it could ruin your night or even day! Pros: Convience Cons: Everything else more

After 8/30/2007

I took an extremely late lunch today. It was well after 2:00 PM. I decided to call in an order of a beef chimichanga, rice, and a side order of guacamole. Upon paying for my to-go meal, I asked if they had included the guacamole. They assured me that it was in the bag. I trusted them and went on my merry way. \r \r Not until I had reached my destination, a good 20 minutes away, did I realize that it WASN'T in the bag. Instead, they had given me a side salad with a teaspoon of guacamole on top. The guacamole WAS NOT FRESH. Everyone knows that fresh guac has a nice light green color. This guac was GREY. The taste was even worse than the color. I was VERY disappointed. One of the main reasons why I usually LOVE Las Palmas (note: I have always been pleased with the service and food at the downtown location, right off of West End) is because of their fresh, flavorful guacamole. I can get tacos, etc. anywhere, but you can't find great quac just anywhere, right? \r \r So, once I get over the fact that I have no guacamole, I decide to move on to the chimichanga and rice. The rice was great, but the chimichanga? All I can say is that it was average. The tortilla was tough, and the consistency was well beyond chewy. \r \r I have to add that I've eaten at this location before during peak lunch/dinner times and have never experienced a problem. However, to go in when the restaurant is virtually empty, and receive poor service and poor quality of food is unacceptable.\r \r I may visit this location at some point in the future, but if I ever order take-out again, I will definitely double check the contents of my to-go bag AND the quality of the food before leaving the premises. Pros: Good during peak hours Cons: Not so good during down times more

Our favorite spot for Mexican food... 2/14/2007

We enjoy Las Palmas very much! Their food is very good and extremly reasonably priced. Portions are more than generous. Their waiters and waitresses are very friendly and prompt with refills, etc. The only negative I've found is that it's sometimes hard to find a parking spot in their lot, but once you're inside there is never a wait to get a table. I highly recommend the dinner combo #1 (2 enchiladas, 1 taco, and rice) and the strawberry margaritas! Pros: food, value, service Cons: limited parking more
