Businiess name:  Antonio's Ristorante

Review content:
As a 15 year resident of Syracuse, I have known that Antonio's has a reputation for excellent food and a nice dining experience. Although we had never patronized the restaurant as private customers, my husband and I attended a Christmas party about 4 years ago in their upstairs banquet area and were very impressed with the quality of the food, service and ambiance. We decided to try Antonio's again to celebrate our February birthdays. Upon entering the dining area, we admired the pleasant decor. However, we were amused and dumbfounded by the quite obvious dead roses in the vases on every table. I appreciate the effort to extend Valentine's Day, but they really looked a little ridiculous. And they were not just a single rose in a bud vase, but at least a 1/2 dozen dead red roses on each table. Wish I had seen them on Valentine's Day; I'm sure they were beautiful. After our little chuckle over the roses, we reviewed the menu which had a large selection of entrees. Our waitress recited several specials as well. Everything sounded wonderful. Hubby ordered veal parm which was very generous in portion size and quite delicious. I had one of the specials - steak with gorgonzola cheese and tomatoes, and a side of garlic mashed potatoes. Delicious! The waiters and waitresses were very attentive, regularly filling our water glasses and checking with us. We were both very satisified with our meals and overall experience until- - we used the restrooms. To my dismay, I was directed to a very small and unattractive bathroom. The cramped space made it difficult and uncomfortable to move around other people. Furthermore, the facilities (toilet, sink, and floor) were very dirty and in desperate need of attention. I'm not just talking about paper on the floor. These facilities had not been cleaned in a long time. Overall, with so many other restaurants to try, I will have a hard time returning to Antonio's until the restroom situation is corrected. Pros: Great food, large portions, excellent service Cons: Dirty bathrooms; a deal breaker for me!
