Review content:
I remember steak and shake being a glorious addition to the waterfront. I would crave their steakburgers and usually make the journey to treat myself a few times a year but on a recent visit I feel as though I've lost faith in this particular store. Getting a to-go order here on a saturday night took us 37 minutes. 7 minutes to get any type of response from the takeout counter because they were socializing. 25 minutes for our food to be make even though we were the only order in the house, and an additional 5 minutes to get our sodas because the cook had to abandon the grill and grab them for us due to the counter girl being caught up in a conversation. We watched tables walk out because they had sat there for just as long as us with no greeting. The manager came out at one point before he went to hide somewhere in the back. I went the extra mile after this experience and contacted corporate, but got an automated ""sorry"" response and have heard nothing since. Pretty bad when you are sending an automated sorry response days later.
