Review content:
We had a wonderful dinner at Macke's on Mother's Day, so we were ready for a return visit on Thanksgiving. Alas, the quality of food we experienced on Mother's Day was not available. After a so-so salad course, dinner arrived. The turkey was cold, as was the carrot souffle. The roasted sprouts and squash were adequate but uninspired. The desserts were the biggest disappointment. They were out of the coconut cream pie -- and little wonder. The ""derby pie"" and ""pumpkin pie"" were tartlets of about three bites each. The small portions were not the only problem: the crust was soggy and the fillings were about what one would expect from Mama Turney! At $35 per person, such a dessert was a calculated insult. After this experience, we will not return next year.
