Review content:
I read the only other review on this site for Select Collision prior to bringing my car to them. I figured that the poor review reflected a single bad experience and could not possibly happen to me. I could not have been more wrong. This repair shop was recommended by my insurance company, and I normally trust USAA's referrals. Unfortunately, this was without a doubt the worst customer service and car repair experience I have ever had to endure. The previous review could have been prophecy for my experience. \r
\r
We were informed initially by them that the total repair would take ""1 to 2 weeks."" This is precisely the amount of time that USAA would cover a replacement car. Ten days into the supposed repair, Select Collision told us that it would take 22 days (but only after I called). After inquiry, they hedged and said it would be 22 ""work days."" On my inquiry, they later told us that repairs would be done on December 29. When I called on the 29th, they said that it would be the 31st. When I called on the 31st, they said that it would be done on Jan. 5th. \r
\r
In all, repairs took 35 days. In that 35 days, Select Collission NEVER ONCE called us with an update or status, except after my third explicit instruction for them to do so. Then, they only called once. I can understand some delay due to the holidays - but not 35 days off of an original estimate of ""1 to 2 weeks."" I'd like to say that their customer service is bad - except their customer service DOES NOT EXIST. Client satisfaction does not appear to be something that they attempt to achieve. If you absolutely must bring your car to them, DO NOT believe anything they say. Be prepared to be without your vehicle for a month or more. \r
\r
The best that I can say is that the repairs (some unnecessary) were done well.\r
\r
(If you are a USAA member, a soldier, or the family of a soldier, take your car somewhere else. I do not want my experience to be shared by any other military member or family.)
Pros: Repairs done well.
Cons: Worst customer service and customer communication I have ever experienced anywhere.
