Editorial review from Citysearch 3/12/2013

Select Collision Center is the best shop around. My brand new SS camaro had a bad front hit and run done and the repairs and paint came out beautiful. I also took my Acura TL there to have my rims custom painted. Couldnt be happier with the work and service! Bob is a great manager that really takes interest in what you want to get done and takes care of your car no matter what it takes. Also gets the cars done in a nice scheduled and timely manner. Thank you more

$6500 worth of JUNK WORK!!! 8/14/2012

White glove service...UNTIL!!!! Bob Seltzer is the fakest person on the face of thie earth. He's lower than a used car dealer that practices politics on the side!!!! He treated me like gold until I picked up my truck. When I pointed out issues, he acted like a 2 month old wanting a bottle. I remained level headed with him until I could no longer hold back. He told me I would be the type of person to come back over and over again. This was my first time. I returned under the direction of my insurance company with a list of issues.\r \r - Paint - Orange peal and fish eyes all over. Overspray on underbody suspension components. Door jams touched up with what looks like fingerpaint. \r \r - Fitment - "New" passenger doors front, mid, rear gaps not even close. Top of both passenger doors are 1/4" from sealing to top seal. Roof damages still indicate a wavy pattern from the damages.\r \r - Replaced tail light...doesn't work. (I know how to fix but, when I dropped it off with the lense more

Don't Put Yourself Through this Stress 4/24/2011

The body work - horrible, the welds were not painted to stop rust, the new paint was not buffed out, the inside body panels were pried with improper tools and left scratches. The body panels were not fit on correctly. The detail work - atrocious - my one year old could clean better than that. My favorite was the employee paystub left under the seat and the blunt wrappers in the door panel. Its bad whent he insurance adjuster is blown away by how bad the repair shop treats your car. And we are still arguing with them - however they conviently don't call you back. Save yourself the trouble! more

My Almost Totaled Audi is now Perfect! 4/27/2009

I have a 2001 Audi S4 and one day unfortunately I got smacked in the rear end. I was completely stopped at a red light. I'd never thought Id be able to say this, but I've seen a Honda headlight practically sitting in the rear seat of my favorite car. \r \r Most of the back end was gone which including my Trunk Lid, Both taillights, the whole right side quarter, and the glass was blown out. I really thought my car was going to be totaled. I had it towed to Select Collision Center in Hershey Pa. This Collision center came highly recommended by a friend of mine that had work done to his Porsche. \r \r They did an estimate for me and even called my insurance company and took car of everything with State Farm, even my rental car. Two days after the accident I was already in a nice rental car and my parts had been ordered. \r \r Select Collision called me every step of the way. I even dropped by their shop on my way to work. They walked me out into their shop and showed me their progress. It really says something when a company will take the time to show you the work and progress of everything as it happens.\r \r I am very meticulous and never thought my car would ever look the same. Well two weeks later after having my car towed to Select, I got it back. It was perfect with no flaws. They cleaned my car inside and out. Today I'm driving a Audi that looks better than when I even bought it! So needless to say, I received many updates and I’m very proud to be able to refer people to this wonderful shop!\r Pros: Almost Totaled Audi is immaculate again! more

Excellent!! 4/27/2009

I am very pleased with the customer service I received at Select Collision Center. Everyone there was very courteous and professional. They kept me updated throughout the entire process without me even having to ask them. The repairs were done in a timely fashion and my car looks better than new. I would highly recommend Select Collision to all my friends and family!! Pros: Updates provided constantly more

Terrible service 1/12/2009

I read the only other review on this site for Select Collision prior to bringing my car to them. I figured that the poor review reflected a single bad experience and could not possibly happen to me. I could not have been more wrong. This repair shop was recommended by my insurance company, and I normally trust USAA's referrals. Unfortunately, this was without a doubt the worst customer service and car repair experience I have ever had to endure. The previous review could have been prophecy for my experience. \r \r We were informed initially by them that the total repair would take ""1 to 2 weeks."" This is precisely the amount of time that USAA would cover a replacement car. Ten days into the supposed repair, Select Collision told us that it would take 22 days (but only after I called). After inquiry, they hedged and said it would be 22 ""work days."" On my inquiry, they later told us that repairs would be done on December 29. When I called on the 29th, they said that it would be the 31st. When I called on the 31st, they said that it would be done on Jan. 5th. \r \r In all, repairs took 35 days. In that 35 days, Select Collission NEVER ONCE called us with an update or status, except after my third explicit instruction for them to do so. Then, they only called once. I can understand some delay due to the holidays - but not 35 days off of an original estimate of ""1 to 2 weeks."" I'd like to say that their customer service is bad - except their customer service DOES NOT EXIST. Client satisfaction does not appear to be something that they attempt to achieve. If you absolutely must bring your car to them, DO NOT believe anything they say. Be prepared to be without your vehicle for a month or more. \r \r The best that I can say is that the repairs (some unnecessary) were done well.\r \r (If you are a USAA member, a soldier, or the family of a soldier, take your car somewhere else. I do not want my experience to be shared by any other military member or family.) Pros: Repairs done well. Cons: Worst customer service and customer communication I have ever experienced anywhere. more

33 Days and Waiting. Worst Service Ever. 3/14/2008

I brought my car to Select on the recommendation of Victory VW on 2/13/08, it needed a new rear door, window, and cover over the rear wheel. As of today, 3/14/08 it is still not fixed. The first two weeks, I was told that it ""would be ready by the end of next week"", by week 3 I was scolded for checking in on it and being told, ""we take so long because we're a quality repair shop, other places do poor work in faster time, it's a busy time of year, we just had 2 ambulances come in for work, etc."" as if to make me feel like I'm bothering them because I wanted to know what was going on with my car after 21 days. Today, (day 30) was the day I should have been able to pick it up. For the first time in a month, they actually initiated a call to me to tell me the window regulator was bad and needed replaced as well. They promised to call me by lunch time to let me know the status. I ended up having to go there in person as I did not get a call back and was tired of getting the run around over the phone. By 330 pm I was told it would be till Monday now to get my car back in full repair (with a price tag of about 3500 dollars, which they haven't even given me a breakdown of those charges). He even had the nerve to say ""we'll call you"" - heck, they called me one time in 30 days without me having to call them first, I refuse to believe they'll make that effort after the poor service I've received so far. Meanwhile the rental car bill is out of control, but I have no other choice as Select is taking their good old time, letting my car sit idle in their shop for weeks on end (going on months). I don't recommend anyone use this company. Personally I will drive my car across state lines if I have to just to avoid doing business with Select Collision in Hershey again! Pros: none so far, but that car better look showroom new after all this time Cons: service, customer contact, takes over a month to repair my car? more
