Review content:
If you are craving a hardy American meal, try this place another day. Le Pain Quotidien serves European inspired dishes with fresh vegetables and organic bread. In addition to their regular menu, they have a list of daily specials and soup of the day (which is always vegan). I love the Salad Vegeterienne so much that I almost never order anything else. It has everything I need from fresh lettuce and tomatoes to a selection of cheeses. It is served with a couple of pieces of bread which I save until the end to eat with the trio of spreads as a dessert. When I could use a slightly smaller meal, I order the ricotta, fig, and honey tartine. The chicken chutney tartine gets rave reviews as well. They even have Liege waffles made from dough with course sugar mixed in (instead of the traditional batter we are used to) served with fresh fruit. Everything my friends and I have ordered has been good, and sometimes you even get a celebrity siting for free with your meal.
Pros: fresh ingredients, Liege waffles, vegan soup, dog friendly
Cons: service can be slow, restaurant gets pretty loud
