For about a month I had these little roaches in my kitchen. At first there was 1 or 2 a week, then 1 or 2 each day, and eventually dozens of the little guys. I called Universal Exterminating and got a person on the line immediately. They were very knowledgeable and set up an appointment that week. The guy came out exactly on time and identified the problem--apparently there was a nest that I didn't know about under the refrigerator. He put down some pasty poison stuff and said that they would be gone in 2 weeks. Although the problem was only the kitchen in 1 area, the guy went ahead and treated other parts of the house too. He was funny and nice and took the time to explain everything he was seeing and doing. 1 week later, all roaches were gone. It's been 2 months now and not a single sighting.
