Review content:
I needed a new windshield for my Toyota, read a review recommending Technaglass and called them. They seemed helpful and quoted me an installed price of $155 plus tax. I scheduled and appointment for later in the day and arrived on time. (9 hours later)
They welcomed me cordially, but within moments the situation deteriorated. The technicians discovered that they needed an additional molding to install the windshield and that nobody had noticed the problem nor ordered one. I was disappointed, but understanding that these things happen, focused on when we could get the molding and finish the install.
They replied, ""tomorrow"" BUT added that I would have to pay extra for the molding. I was astounded since they had already screwed up by not being ready to do their job. Now they wanted to add $22 plus tax. They asserted that this was their cost and that they couldn't be held responsible for their representative mis-quoting the installed price. I suggested that good businesses stand by their commitments and they replied they would do whatever it took to make me happy except stand by their word.
I quietly exited the building as they verbally assaultedt me from behind the desk.
I promptly went to another vendor who quoted me a competitive price and then said, ""oh wait, there is a special molding for that. It will be extra.""
How much extra I inquired. $10! This was quite a bit lower than the Technaglass mans no mark-up price. From this I conclude that either Techna Glass is paying way more than they should for parts or the store manager was lying.
Given his attitude that treated more like a competitor than a customer, option 2 seems more reasonable.
Bottom line, I'm getting my windshield done elsewhere for far less than Technaglass' ""We aren't making any profit on this one's"" price.
I would recommend avoiding this business. When you give your business to dishonest people you may or may not be taken advantage of, but you are helping support a business that will surely mistreat someone.
Better to boycott the business and let it die, than set up the uninformed for a nasty game of consumer Russian Roulette.
