Review content:
In May 2009, our female dog came home from Laurel Acres with a severe bladder infection. The Vet bill was $561 and our dog was on medication for two weeks. The kennel owner refused to help with the vet bills saying they keep a clean kennel. We could not prove they were negligent, so we did not push for reimbursement. On our last visit a couple of weeks ago, I asked how late the dogs were allowed access to the outdoor run and I was told the dogs are locked in the small sleeping area from 7:30pm to 7:30am as all the staff leaves the facility at 7:30pm. It is cruel and stressful to expect the dogs to either hold their urine for twelve hours or urinate in their sleeping area. In addition, I requested our two senior dogs be fed between 6:00-7:00am and 6:00-7:00pm. I was told no problem. When I picked our dogs up at 5:00 on a Friday, I asked if our dogs had been fed and I was told they were fed at 8:30am and 2:00pm their entire stay. Instead of going twelve hours after the night feeding, they had to wait eighteen hours. Our requests, which we paid additional fees for, were not adhered to and our dogs were clearly not a priority. I will never again use Laurel Acres Kennels. Cons: Dogs are locked in small sleeping area from 7:30pm-7:30am.
