My boyfriend and I went here thinking it was good because we heard positive reviews. We like trying out new restaurants and giving them a chance, so we figured, let's try Yard House! Upon entering, we were greeted. First impression: a little loud...but that's okay because it's a 'cool' place to go. We were seated at a high top near the kitchen (worst place to be given, why even put tables there?). Can't blame the host, you seat 'em where it's available. Next, we opened the menu and it was a weird selection of food. Everything from sushi to korean BBQ to hamburgers. It was all over the place, wasn't sure what kind of food to order....matter of fact, nothing looked appetizing so we went ahead and just ordered the artichoke appetizer. We were greeted by ""Donnie"" (real name: Donald) after about 10 minutes. He wasn't particularly busy, he just felt like socializing, I suppose. Anyway, he took our order down...and it took a good while for it to arrive. But that's okay, it was a busy Saturday night. We understood. What I didn't understand was the fact that everytime I looked at Donnie to get his attention, he saw us and just kept talking to his co-workers. I tried getting the attention of the many managers that were walking, but all seemed too busy being ""professional"" (and I put that in quotes for a reason). None of them came over. How rude. We weren't particularly demanding, we just wanted to order an entree. Donnie wandered over and asked what we'd like to order....so I ordered the garlic lobster noodles. It sounded the safest (boy, was I wrong). It came out after a while of waiting....and it was disgusting. It had a weird sweet flavor and the lobster didn't taste fresh. We ran out of water soon after, and I can't even remember how many times Donnie or a manager would walk by and NOT ask us if we wanted a refill. Let me reiterate: we were not demanding or rude at all. Anyways, he finally came over after 20 minutes and we were so turned off by the horrible service we just asked for the check...WHICH TOOK ANOTHER 15 MINUTES because he was busy socializing and laughing. We usually tip 20%+, but we realized that you need to earn your tip. We only tipped 15%...and that was us being generous. I will NEVER come back to this place. Horrible food, bad service, and a loud atmosphere. Hopefully other people had better experiences than we did. And if you get Donnie as your server, ask for someone else. Pros: um...nothing. Cons: service, atmosphere, food
