nope,... not going again 11/5/2011

my husband and I have tried this place 3 times.... we believe any place can have an off night/day.... we found it to be well overpriced, but the food was good.... the beer selection - which they tout as the largest in the world, isn't even the largest in Houston... try Gingerman, or Richmond Arms.... they do NOT serve 20 oz Imperial pints, but charge as though they do, nor do they have a staff educated on how to pour a Guinness!! It's really annoying that places believe that just because they are trendy they should simply take rake customers over the coals.... when my husband asked why the Guinness was not in a proper Guinness glass we were told the customers can't be trusted - they steal specialty glasses! HOW RUDE!!! We will not darken their door again.... over priced Chilis! more

Suck!!! 9/2/2011

The managers/servers are crass and rude...especially the short old manager dude. We left a phone on the table, and it was stolen within 5 minutes of leaving. Pretentious, over priced place with c*ck suckers serving your watered down drinks. more

Great selection of food - I have tried their soup, pizza and burgers. Burgers are pretty good. Menu items are a bit pricey. Each time I go it take a while for the food to come out. Their Happy Hour has a nice scene. more

Best of City Centre 4/1/2011

Yardhouse is the best place at City Centre by far! The atmosphere, choices of food, prices and serving sizes are GREAT! My husband can eat pizza and oinion rings and I can have a seared Ahi tuna salad, so for us the variety is hands down the best part. more

Never Again! 1/27/2011

Went last night with 3 girlfriends. NIGHTMERE trying to park first of all. Valets at Yard House and Sorella were both full. I love City Centre but this place isn't going to make it if you can't park. more

Great place to sit outside on the patio more

BAD food, BAD service! 7/27/2010

My boyfriend and I went here thinking it was good because we heard positive reviews. We like trying out new restaurants and giving them a chance, so we figured, let's try Yard House! Upon entering, we were greeted. First impression: a little loud...but that's okay because it's a 'cool' place to go. We were seated at a high top near the kitchen (worst place to be given, why even put tables there?). Can't blame the host, you seat 'em where it's available. Next, we opened the menu and it was a weird selection of food. Everything from sushi to korean BBQ to hamburgers. It was all over the place, wasn't sure what kind of food to order....matter of fact, nothing looked appetizing so we went ahead and just ordered the artichoke appetizer. We were greeted by ""Donnie"" (real name: Donald) after about 10 minutes. He wasn't particularly busy, he just felt like socializing, I suppose. Anyway, he took our order down...and it took a good while for it to arrive. But that's okay, it was a busy Saturday night. We understood. What I didn't understand was the fact that everytime I looked at Donnie to get his attention, he saw us and just kept talking to his co-workers. I tried getting the attention of the many managers that were walking, but all seemed too busy being ""professional"" (and I put that in quotes for a reason). None of them came over. How rude. We weren't particularly demanding, we just wanted to order an entree. Donnie wandered over and asked what we'd like to order....so I ordered the garlic lobster noodles. It sounded the safest (boy, was I wrong). It came out after a while of waiting....and it was disgusting. It had a weird sweet flavor and the lobster didn't taste fresh. We ran out of water soon after, and I can't even remember how many times Donnie or a manager would walk by and NOT ask us if we wanted a refill. Let me reiterate: we were not demanding or rude at all. Anyways, he finally came over after 20 minutes and we were so turned off by the horrible service we just asked for the check...WHICH TOOK ANOTHER 15 MINUTES because he was busy socializing and laughing. We usually tip 20%+, but we realized that you need to earn your tip. We only tipped 15%...and that was us being generous. I will NEVER come back to this place. Horrible food, bad service, and a loud atmosphere. Hopefully other people had better experiences than we did. And if you get Donnie as your server, ask for someone else. Pros: um...nothing. Cons: service, atmosphere, food more

Great Food, Drinks and Service 5/11/2010

Food is amazing, great location, it atmosphere is a lot of fun, you can go to watch a game or have drinks with friends. The menu definitely has a California feel to it, in a great way. If you have some time on a weekend, YH is a great place to sit out of the patio and enjoy the sun and scenery. Pros: Sweet Potato Fries more

Let down 5/10/2010

over price food and drinks, slow service, rude and hard headed management. Went to yardhouse seveal times and every time I left disapointed. Great location but staff ruins the expirence enough that I tell people to stay away. more

Great for Beer Lovers 4/16/2010

If you?re a connoisseur of beer and love good food you must check out Yard House. This tap house has one of the largest (and perhaps classiest) selections of draft beers in the Houston area. The staff is knowledgeable and eager to satisfy your malted grain beverage needs. For those looking for a stiffer drink, the house martinis are tasty and well mixed as well, I recommend the Mangolicious because? well, it?s delicious and fun to say. Yard House also has great lunch specials and an unbeatable happy hour. With select half-priced appetizers and drink specials, how can you say no? During happy hour a group of friends and I usually order a few well-portioned appetizers to share. I suggest trying the spinach cheese dip, the turkey sliders and the blue crab cakes. If it?s a nice day, sit outside on the patio and enjoy the pretty landscaping of City Centre. Pros: large beer selection, upbeat atmosphere, customer service Cons: A bit pricey during non-special hours more

Rip offs 2/14/2010

It s stupid for being asked ID everytime we order. I meant, come on. We entered and leave our stuff on the table at the patio. There were no waiter/waitress come to get our orders. I had to walk to get inside and order the beer Guess what? She asked me for a freaking ID. Waste my time to walk back to the patio and get the stupid ID to show. I meant, come on. It has to stop to ask customers for an ID everytime they order drink. What more, it has to have ONE drink per person that made a spouse or significant other to walk and order it. I find it so ridiciously! I will not go back there again. I don't mind for meals, not a bar. Where are $4.00 a imported pint and $2.50 domestic pint? Can you tell me the name of bar, so we can go there to have fun.? Pros: Lot of choices to order Cons: drink prices rip of more

Excellent atmosphere; plenty of TVs 1/4/2010

I thought Yard House had an excellent atmosphere. The place was jam-packed but getting service was never a problem. There were plenty of plasma screens around so keeping up with sporting events was not an issue. The one 'negative' would be the age limit (or lack thereof). There were plenty of very young children around, which gave the place a restaurant feel instead of a bar feel. Still, the place was definitely a hit. more

Overpriced Beer, Bad Food 12/14/2009

Went in for lunch and to watch a football game. The food was not as good as Chilis and cost twice as much. I had only one beer because they want $6.50 for an import draft and it didn't taste fresh. They wanted $10.50 for mixed drinks so that was completely out of the question. Pros: Plenty of TVs Cons: Overpriced Drinks, Bad Food, Atmosphere more
