I called regarding a car that was advertised on the internet, arrived to look at it that evening and Dave F, took me out, let me drive it on the highway and even offered to let me take it home that night. THAT I wasn't prepared for. I didn't think dealers did that anymore.
I will admit I expected hi pressure sales, as there was (as mentioned by others) the tower of terror - kind of hokey guys, how about getting rid of that.
When I came back with my spouse, I had already had my loan approved through my bank, took it to a mechanic and had it looked over, and come bank with a short list of problems. We reached a mutual decision and I honestly feel that I got a great car at a really good price! No hassle, no pressure, not stress.
For all those with complaints - get a loan approved before you go, and look over the car - I knew EXACTLY what I was getting when I bought it.
