I will admit, when I first walked in, I was a little concerned. I had recently tried a 'corporate' sort of dentist office where I was overcharged and up-sold for services that I didn't need. Dr. Spaulding's office looked almost too nice. I was worried that the zen rocks, waterfall, and modern furniture would be reflected on my bill, and all I wanted was a straightforward cleaning and check up. Luckily, I was totally wrong. Everyone at the office was super nice. Both Dr. Spaulding and my dental assistant, Missy, we're kind and straightforward with me. She took pictures of your teeth and mouth so that I could see how things change over time (yay longitudinal data!). She explained the advantages and disadvantages of the various sort of procedures I could get (I decided to get a mouth guard finally for my nightly tooth grinding after seeing pictures of what my teeth look like). And Missy even put up with my incessant joking around with good humor and grace :) I've heard that people have had trouble in the past making appointments and getting bills paid (and the staff I spoke with admitted this was a problem in the past), but Dr. Spaulding has brought in new people who took the extra time to explain exactly what my insurance would and wouldn't cover and I didn't pay a cent for my appointment. Overall, it was the perfect sort of dental experience and I'd recommend her to anyone.
