My laptop was turned over and I paid the advertised $49 for service. Then the jackass rendered a service I did not request (systems recovery, something any moron can do with 4 spare minute's time), and specifically mentioned I had planned to do myself, for the additional cost of $84.
Well I shrug and figure, ""This guy is holding my machine hostage, and I would've paid only $20 less for the repairs I did request"". I pay the additional cost for the service I did not request despite the ridiculous charge only to discover that the repair I did request was not performed.
My laptop has a DC power issue. Rather than attempting to diagnose or repair the problem Steve, the proprietor, simply tells me to purchase new batteries and AC adapters (things which I had already excluded as probably causes as I HAD purchased a new battery and tried another more suitable adapter). In addition the clown installed the incorrect version of my OS, so I have to do the systems restore myself after all.
Of course Steve refused to perform additional diagnosis and/or repair, balked on a partial refund for at least the 'system restore' I did not request, and shrugged when I pointed out that he had loaded the improper OS. Essentially I paid $140+ despite an advertised $50 and all I got was a retarded ad banner as my desktop wallpaper.
Lesson learned. Next time I'll check the Better Business Bureau before hitting one of these PC 'repair' shops; this firm has had five complaints lodged in the past 2 years. Mine makes 6.
Pros: Enticing repair pricing
Cons: Incompetence, services rendered while not requested, etc.
