AFTER SPENDING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON TIRES OF DIFFERENT MAKES FOR VARIOUS VEHICLES I HAD THE NEED FOR A SET OF Z06 CORVETTE WHEELS. I CALL AND WAS QOUTED TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLARS AND UPON ARRIVING AT THE STORE WAS TOLD THEY WOULD BE SIXTEEN HUNDRED. THIS WAS NOT RIGHT BUT WENT AHEAD AND BOUGHT THE WHEELS ANYWAY. NOTE, THESE WHEELS WERE FOR MY FATHERS CAR WHO LIVES IN HEMPSTEAD TEXAS. ANYWAY, AFTER ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE AROUND THE VEHICLE AND NOTICE THE CHROME WAS FLAKING OFF THE WHEELS. I SUGGESTED THAT HE TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK AND HAVE THEM LOOK AT THE WHEELS BECAUSE OF DEFECTS. AS I SAID HE LIVES OUT OF TOWN AND WAS GOING TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN THE NEXT TIME HE WAS IN HOUSTON. AS TIME WENT BY THE WHEELS CONTINUED TO GET WORSE. NOW IT HAS BEEN OVER TWO YEARS AND I PERSONALLY TOOK THE VEHICLE THERE MYSELF. THE MANAGER WAS NOT THERE AND A MAN NAME DON SAID HE WOULD NEED THE MANAGER TO LOOK AT THEM. THIS MEANT ANOTHER TRIP BUT I WAS OKAY ITH THAT. ON THE NEXT TRIP AND SEVERAL CALLS LATER THE MANAGER (JACK) SAID HE THOUGHT THE WHEELS WERE EXPOSED TO SALT WATER. KEEP IN MIND THIS VEHICLE IS KEPT IN HEMPSTEAD TEXAS ONE HUNDRED MILES FROM THE COAST AND DRIVEN BY A SEVENTY FIVE YEAR OLD MAN. AFTER EXPLAINING THERE IS NOTHING ELSE ON THE VEHICLE FLAKING OR RUSTING WHICH OCCURS IF EXPOSED TO SALTWATER FOR EXTENDED TIME HE SIMPLY SAID HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WTIH THEM AND SAID HE WOULD SEE WHAT HE COULD DO. THE NEXT VISIT HE SAID HE WOULD TRADE THE WHEELS OUT AND DO WHAT WAS RIGHT BY HIS CUSTOMER. HE SAID HE WOULD CALL ME( THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN AND YET ANOTHER VISIT WAS REQUIRED. UPON ARRIVING I WAS TOLD THE WHEELS HAD NOT COME IN AND HE WOULD CALL. TWO WEEKS HAVE GONE BY AND I CALL THIS MORNING JUST TO BE TOLD THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE. THEY MADE 700 PROFIT ON THE WHEELS AND WANT TO CHARE ME ANOTHER 500 TO REPLACE AT NO COST TO THEM. THIS IS AFTER BEING TOLD THREE TIMES BY THE MANAGER THAT THEY WOULD SWAP THEM OUT. THIER WORDS MEAN NOTHING!!
