Review content:
The selection at Maxfield is terrific, (their buyers are stellar) with many cult labels (Raf Simons, Carol Christian Poell, Martin Margiela) mixed in with the biggies (Armani, Gucci, Dior) and probably the best selection of CDG and Yamamoto in the city. The (relative) bargains at Maxfield Bleu are likewise terrific, but the attitude of the salespeople leave something to be desired.
Why is it that, with very few exceptions (Traffic Men, Lisa Kline Men), the salespeople at the high end boutiques and specialty shops in LA need to cultivate a hipper than thou attitude? Use your head. This is LA. You don't know if the person coming in dressed head toe in Dolce & Gabbana or the one in ratty old sweats is the big spender.
