Tonight was my first and last visit to Oishii. My husband and I called ahead of time tonight to ask if they would accept a gift certificate we received for Christmas for Oishii at Timberlyne in Chapel Hill. We didn't know if they were the same restaurant or not. The owner said she would and took our reservation. When the bill came we gave our gift certificate and what it didn't cover. Our waiter came back and said that the gift certificate was not there's. I told him we called ahead of time and the owner said she would accept it. He went and asked her if she would take it and she said no. We tried to stand our ground but she refused saying we didn't say Oishii at Timberlyne when we called. Of course we did or why would we have called in the first place? She said if we didn't pay she would call the police! Seriously! I guess she's never heard the customer is always right.
